According to a reliable source within the company, Huawei is set to launch two new-mid range smartphones in Sri Lanka. The source revealed that the devices would be under the much successful Huawei ‘Y-series’ range. The devices are believed to be targeted at the highly competitive mid-range smartphone market in the country and are already shipped and have obtained the necessary clearances and will be available in the market from the end of March. The devices will feature high end features for a mid range price range offering best value for Huawei customers.

Industry analysts point out that the two mid-range smartphones could be the Huawei Y7 Pro and the Huawei Y9. If so the Y7 Pro will be the first mid-range smartphone in the market to sport three cameras while the Y9 will be the first four-camera smartphone with a 4,000mAh battery in the mid-range pricing category. Sri Lanka could anticipate the entry of this unique device analyzing past Huawei regional launch campaigns and product introductions in Sri Lanka.
